Saisaku, Tatsuya, and Hotaru are three talented students from Aoba Academy who face off with their self-made robots in competitive tournaments. Meanwhile, the military organization Dillinger has declared itself to be the ruler of the universe, and has launched an invasion to conquer the Earth. To defend against this new threat, Hotaru's father, Professor Mizuki, modifies their robots back at his lab. In their new forms, the three robots are able to combine and form the invincible super robot Albegas. As the fierce battle continues, the Albegas launches to crush Dillinger's ambitions.
